In addition to strengthening your home with impact windows and doors you should:

• Make an emergency plan, and make sure everyone in your family knows and understands it
• Know your evacuation zone and your route in case you have to quickly leave your home
• Review important documents, like insurance policies, and make sure that they are up to date and in a secure place
• Gather supplies, including medications, disinfectant supplies, masks, and pet supplies. FEMA recommends one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation, and at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
